Introduction
Most species of Nothomyia are from Brazil, Central America, and the Caribbean. N. bicolor is from Java (Indonesia) and N. brevis is from New Caledonia (Woodley 2001).
Characteristics
Nothomyia is distinguished from other Nearctic Prosopochrysini by the aristate antenna and the two scutellar spines (James 1981).
