Paractis tenuicollis
Characteristics
Actinostolidae with distinct base. Column divisible into a thinner upper smooth part (capitulum) and a thicker lower part, (scapus), which may bear longitudinal ridges, these may terminate rather abruptly above. Margin tentaculate. A weak sphincter in the capitulum and apparently a second sphincter in the upper part of the scapus. Tentacles probably in more than 2 cycles in the adults. Longitudinal muscles of tentacles ectodermal. 2 siphonoglyphs. Mesenteries of the first cycle sterile. Retractors diffuse, band-like.References
