Characteristics
Actinostolidae with rather small pedal disc. Column elongate, smooth (or with small suckers in its distal part?). Sphincter well developed, mesogloeal. Tentacles rather short, hexamerously arranged, the inner longer than the outer. Longitudinal muscles of tentacles and radial muscles of oral disc ectodermal. 2 distinct siphonoglyphs. Mesenteries more numerous distally than proximally. At least 12 pairs of mesenteries perfect. 2 pairs of directives. Retractors strong diffuse. Parietal part of the muscles recalling the muscles of the weaker mesenteries. Gonads on all stronger mesenteries. Cnidom: spirocysts, basitrichs, microbasic p-mastigophors.References
