Eudaminae
Andrew V. Z. Brower and Andrew WarrenThis tree diagram shows the relationships between several groups of organisms.
The root of the current tree connects the organisms featured in this tree to their containing group and the rest of the Tree of Life. The basal branching point in the tree represents the ancestor of the other groups in the tree. This ancestor diversified over time into several descendent subgroups, which are represented as internal nodes and terminal taxa to the right.
You can click on the root to travel down the Tree of Life all the way to the root of all Life, and you can click on the names of descendent subgroups to travel up the Tree of Life all the way to individual species.

close boxIntroduction
Genera in Eudaminae were formerly viewed to be part of Pyrginae. However, Warren et al. (2008, 2009) have demonstrated that Pyrginae s. l. is paraphyletic with respect to other skippers unless this subfamily is separated. Most of the eudamine genera are neotropical, with some extending into North America. However, Lobocla is endemic to east Asia.
Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships
Phylogenetic relationships as implied by Warren et al. (2009). Taxa indicated in "putative position" (with question marks) are those not included in the combined data analysis but tentatively placed on the basis of shared morphological features, as discussed in the text.References
