Characteristics
Actiniidae. Pedal disc well developed. Column with longitudinal rows of adhesive verrucae, which are most numerous in its uppermost part; and provided with cinclides. Sphincter circumscribed, more or less unequally bipinnate. Tentacles rather short, hexamerously arranged, the outer longer than the inner (or both of same length?). Longitudinal muscles of tentacles and radial muscles of oral disc ectodermal. 2 siphonoglyphs. Most of the mesenteries perfect. 2 pairs of directives. Retractors strong, band-like, parietobasilar and basilar muscles well developed. Probably more mesenteries than tentacles. All mesenteries, apart from the directives and those of the last cycle, fertile.References
