Simone Nunes Brandao
I am especially interested in biodiversity, biogeography, morphology, morphometry and systematics. Since 2000 I study ostracod crustaceans. They are amazing small animals, which inhabit virtually all aquatic environments on Earth. From tropical sand beaches to the deep sea. From the Arctic to Antarctica. From freshwater temporary ponds to acid lakes. They are very useful because they present an extensive fossil record from the last 425 millions of years. Through these fossils, one can deduce information about the history of our planet, including the many climatic changes.
