Sarinda

These and Synemosyna make up our only representatives of this large cosmotropical
subfamily of ant mimics. Sarinda tend to be more robust in body. The palpi
are large and the embolus fixed to the tegulum, unlike the case in Peckhamia
and Synageles.

The species in the eastern U.S. is often found on forest leaf litter; the neotropical species are typically in vegetation.
