Introduction
A group of small, atypical apaturines from China. As may be inferred from the anagrammatical generic name, these butterflies were formerly considered to be close relatives of Melitaea (Nymphalinae). DNA sequences (Wahlberg et al. 2003, 2005) show that the genus belongs in Apaturinae.
