Introduction
A small genus with one widespread Asian species (S. epius), two from New Guinea (S. asmus, S. sp. nov.), one from the Philippines (S. takanamii), two African species (S. jacksoni, S. lemolea) and one from Madagascar (S. tintinga). The common name refers to the observation that chrysalides of these species are said to resemble the head of a monkey (Hinton, 1974).
