Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships
The traditional genus Myiophobus is polyphyletic, and its members belong to at least three separate groups (Tello et al. 2009, Ohlson et al. 2008). M. fasciatus is the type species, and so this group retains the name. The other two groups, here and here, will need new names.References
