Introduction
A small genus occurring on the eastern slopes of the Andes from Colombia to Bolivia. The moths are involved in mimicry with co-occurring Geometridae.Characteristics
Miller (2009) notes that the differences among the species are based on wing patterns and may represent geographical variation rather than specific characters.
The genus shares with its sister taxon Momonipta the following synapomorphies:
- large, rounded eyes
- short, thin labial palpi
- male forewing stridulatory organs
- antennae lacking pecination
- hyaline wings
- longer FW discal cell
