  2. Mantle and funnel
    1. Mantle attached entirely to ventral surface of head.
    2. Funnel attached entirely to ventral surface of head.

Comments

More details of the description of L. dentatus can be found here.

L. dentatus can be separated from L. shuishi by the longer arms, the attachment of the mantle and funnel to the head rather than to arms IV, the fewer teeth-like structures on the suckers and the fewer rows of teeth in the radula.

Distribution

Known only from the type locality at 40°01'S, 167°50'E off western New Zealand, 991 m.

This page is a Tree of Life Leaf Page.

Each ToL leaf page provides a synopsis of the characteristics of a group of organisms representing a leaf at the tip of the Tree of Life. The major distinction between a leaf and a branch of the Tree of Life is that a leaf cannot generally be further subdivided into subgroups representing distinct genetic lineages.

For a more detailed explanation of the different ToL page types, have a look at the Structure of the Tree of Life page.
