Introduction

A recently-described species from central Colombia.  Females are unknown.

Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships

Evidently preferring the broader circumscription of Callaghan and Lamas (2004) over more recent phylogenetic hypotheses, Rodríguez et al. (2011) described this species in the genus Adelotypa.  However, they indicated that it is closely-related to Harveyope zerna (Hewitson, 1872).  Given the classification employed in these pages, the species is therefore placed in Harveyope stat. nov.

Type material

holotype:  male.  Colombia:  Antioquia, El Retiro, 2300-2600 m. 22 June 2002.  leg. G. Ramírez. 

A paratype male was collected at the same locality.  Both are held by the collector.
