Introduction
Chloromyia larvae, where known, live in leaf litter and the upper layers of soil (Rozkošný 1998). Chloromyia has 4 species native to Africa. C. speciosa is found in Europe, and C. formosa is from N. Africa and Europe and has been recently introduced to the eastern United States (Woodley 2001).
Characteristics
Chloromyia is distinguished from many other Sarginae by the densely pilose eyes (James 1981).
